Birmingham Phoenix (BPH) are set to host champions Southern Brave (SOB) in the 8th match of The Hundred 2022 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on Wednesday. Birmingham Phoenix reached the finals last season after finishing group stages at top of the league table. But they kicked off this season with a big 6-wicket defeat against Trent Rockets. Liam Livingstone scored the highest 47 runs and Tom Helm took the two wickets for Birmingham in the last match.
Southern Brave won the first edition of the Hundred tournament by beating Birmingham in the finals. They started this season with a nine-wicket win against Welsh Fire in the opening match. Pacers Craig Overton and Chris Jordon took two wickets each to restrict opponents to just 107 runs and then skipper Jame Vince smashed an unbeaten 71 runs off just 41 balls to guide his team to a big win.
