Sri Lanka (SL) will take on South Africa (SA) in the fourth match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The two are scheduled to clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Monday (June 3). Both teams are placed in Group D alongside the Netherlands, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Spin all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga will lead the Lankan side, while Aiden Markram will be the leader of the Proteas men. The 2014 champions have a strong spin unit and have banked on the experience of all-rounder Angelo Mathews, who is set to make his sixth T20 World Cup appearance.
On the other hand, South Africa have a formidable batting unit with top-class finishers like David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs featuring in the middle and lower middle-order. Despite reaching the knockout stage in several editions of the World Cup, South Africa failed to win a single title.
